In less than 48 hours, the permatang pauh by-election will be in full swing. They called it “mother of all by-elections”.
So you can guess the intensity of this election.
 
I know many of you are concerned about the future of our country. We all agree that it is heading to the wrong direction and something has to be done to save it. The key lies in the up-coming permatang pauh by-election. After March 8 election, we managed to send multiracial pakatan rakyat to govern a few states. Finally the two party system is dawning. However, UMNO has proven itself to continue to be arrogant, corrupt and divisive as before.
 
We have to shape the future of the country by participating in this critical democratic process. The coming by-election will be critical. It is a the survival of pakatan rakyat. If Anwar didn’t make it, we will fall back to the dark ages. UMNO-BN is very well aware of that. They will use their 3M strategy-Money, Media, Machinery. Therefore, they will pour tens of millions into the campaign. They will use whatever means to character assasinate Anwar.
 
Please do not sit in your comfortable couch, read malaysiakini and comment. I would like to invite you to participate in this historical event. If you can come, please join us into the campaign. Saya sekarang berada dalam Dewan Tun Syed Nasir menunggu Debat Perdana antara Datuk Seri Anwar dan Daro Ahmad Shabery Cheek.

Di Indonesia atau negara maju, debat merupakan perkara yang biasa, debat presiden Amerika menarik tontonan jutaan.

Tetapi, Malaysia begitu sensitif. Saya melalui 3 roadblocks baru sampai. 3 truck polis FRU menunggu di luar seakan-akan debat akan menyebabkan rusuhan.

Perjalanan Demokrasi masih jauh lagi.

Ayuh, VIP baru sampai. Jom sama-sama ikut debat kat TV9, Bernama TV dan laman kerajaan Selangor.

六月的马来西亚是个多事之秋。六月初，政府宣布有史以来最高的油价，让人们怨声哉道，民不聊生。接着，就是两名自民党的国会议员宣布将会对首相投不信任票，为政坛投下一枚炸弹，这是我国历史从来没有发生过的事，国阵政府立时摇摇欲坠。紧接下来就是著名部落客拉惹布特拉的宣誓书，投报我国副首相的夫人曾现身在阿丹图亚的案发现场。

就在国阵 政府内忧外患的背景下，另一枚炸弹突然爆发。这次的事发地点竟然在我的办公室，让我有点措手不及。

今年二月，安华正积极部署大选筹划，他为了突出竞选团队专业化及年轻化，委任了他的三个政治助理出征大选。我们三个都是年轻的专业人士。大选后，努鲁伊莎赢了班台谷国会议席，灄那兹米赢了雪州斯里色地亚州议席，而我也赢了班台惹雅州议席。就在我们筹备竞选及竞选期间，安华的工作就由一批年轻人帮忙处理，然而，我们并不知道，这就是最大的失误。

赛夫就是那些年轻人之一，他平时并不多话，为人礼貌，不容易让人起疑。大选过后，那些年轻人有些成为国会议员助理，有些加入雪州政府办事，赛夫则留下来义务帮忙，直到继续学业为止。赛夫表现并不出色，常不准时上班，而且不时缺席。由于是义务助手，安华并不太在意他的缺点，然而他却万万没料到一个23岁的年轻人竟然会有这样深的城府，被敌人安插在他的办公室，伺机结束他的政治生涯。
在整个事件里，敌对的一方算准了最好的时机发难。首先他们选择在他们内忧外患，民怨冲天的当儿，重重一击，顿时所有舆论都不再报道对他们不利的消息，人们暂时忘了高油价带来的痛苦，忘了国阵已摇摇欲坠，首相无力进行改革。第二，他们再次应用人格谋杀的计谋来对付安华。他们认为只要让安华名誉扫地，那民联将会群龙无首，从此瓦解，再也无法威胁国阵。他们再次运用卑鄙的鸡奸指控，企图用老剧本陷害安华两次。这将是这是一石多鸟之计。
然而，他们低估了人民的智慧。人民的眼睛是雪亮的。这些指控漏洞百出，事实证明赛夫与副首相那吉的政治助理及多位巫统部长有联系，他们的动机昭然诺揭。我们不应该再次掉入政治陷阱，现在最重要的是改善经济，对抗通膨，改革司法及警察部队，加强治安，让人民安居乐业。这是308 大选人民传达的讯息。

It all started in March, there were a few new younger staffers came into the office to volunteer.

All of his earlier staffs, Nik Nazmi, Nurul Izzah and me have been assigned to contest in the General Election, we all won. There was a vacumm and Shaiful came in. He was introduced by another junior staff who was assisting Nik Nazmi.
 
We believe he was planted because we received information about his cozziness with UMNO bigshots very early, Anwar decided to gave him chance and did not think a 23 year old would do any harm to him. 

DSAI seek refuge in several embassies due to security threat after the incidents. Police sources had informed us that they will arrest him that night. As an old man with a back injury, all of us advised him to seek refuge. He simply could not undergo the hell of 1998 again. Several embassies offered the refuge, he chose Turkey.
 
That was the basic story. It is important to note that the timing of this incident, because, BN is suffering attacks from all sides. Within BN there are serious internal squabbles. Outside BN there is a huge oil hike crisis out there and people are suffering. Then, there is Altantuya case haunting Najib’s and his wife. There are no significant reform done to judiciary, police and governance. So, as a result, they decided to divert the attention.
 
It is important for civil societies to focus on the reform agenda: Democracy, judicial reform, rule of law, police reform, freedom of media etc. Do not let the BN get away with these dirty tactics.
 
This is the critical time for the country to move forward or go back to dirty politics that is so “menjijikan”. Let us all try to push through the critical reform agendas. Do not lose focus. Write blogs, share ideas, send sms, organize forums to bring reform to the country. I think the March 8 General Election has sent BN a strong message.

What will happen for next few days, weeks and months will be one of the most important periods in our country’s history. After March 8, the BN government led by PM Datuk Seri Ahmad Badawi has proved that he did not have the vision and capacity to lead the country for betterment. He has lost his credibility by doing nothing to Royal Commission of Lingam Tape, unable to control worsening crime, no reform on the police force, unable to control food price and in fact fueling the rise with oil hike.

Today, we have the golden opportunity to change the course of the county towards people centered policies, good governance, globally competitiveness and turn around our economy. Bravo to SAPP for taking the lead. At challenging time like this, we need leadership, courage and faith to lead changes. SAPP has proved their worth by taking the lead.

We demand other BN leaders to take similar steps. We would like to call upon all BN wakil rakyat to do the right thing. Please show us that you care for the country. Please show us you have the courage to change the course of the country. Please show us the leadership that you can make tough and bold decision at critical times.

Isu minyak gara-gara menjadi perdebatan kalangan pimpinan PKR. Maka Secretariate PKR mengadakan sessi perbincangan para ahli parlimen dan Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri dengan 3 tokoh pakar ekonomi dan sosiologi, ie Prof Rajah Rasiah, Prof Jomo K.S. dan Dr Syed Husin Ali.

Perbincangan giat membincangkan implikasi kenaikan harga minyak dan juga pengangkutan awam. Isu fiskal dan monetary juga dibincangkan untuk mengurangkan defisit negara. Paling ketara adalah langkah-langkah untuk menggurangkan pembasiran awam.

Sesi pagi ini akan diteruskan dengan sesi-sesi berikutan pada hujung bulan ini. Usaha untuk memperkasakan wakil rakyat untuk memperjuangkan agenda rakyat giat dijalankan.

Sudah lebih kurang seratus hari saya diundi sebagai wakil rakyat anda. Saya amat bersyukur dan cukup bertuah diberikan peluang memimpin dan berkhidmat kepada anda, masyarakat Pantai Jerejak.

Selepas tarikh bersejarah 8 Mac, saya telah diberikan kepercayaan menjadi menganggotai beberapa Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan (MMK). Di antaranya adalah MMK Kerajaan Tempatan, MMK Perdagangan dan Perniagaan, MMK Hal Ehwal Pengguna, MMK Tebatan Banjir dan MMK Perumahan.

Penglibatan saya dalam MMK ini petanda jelas bahawa buah pandangan kita semua masyarakat Pantai Jerejak amat dihargai kerajaan negeri. Berkat kepercayaan anda juga, saya dibantu oleh petugas-petugas di DUN Pantai Jerejak berjaya menangani sebahagian besar kes-kes yang diajukan kepada kami.

Contohnya, kami telah bertindak selaku orang tengah dalam rundingan antara penduduk Kampung Sungai Nibong Besar dan pemaju-pemaju perumahan. Rundingan ini melibatkan lebih 130 rumah dengan 2 pemaju.

Sekumpulan pelajar cemerlang lepasan SPM juga telah dibawa ke Parlimen untuk mendapatkan bantuan biasiswa dan tempat untuk program matrikulasi. Saya berjaya berjumpa dengan timbalan menteri pelajaran dan berjaya mengajukan kes-kes rayuan untuk pertimbangan lanjut.

Masalah banjir di Kampung Sungai Nibong Besar turut mendapat perhatian. Pemaju telah memperbaiki keadaan parit dan memberi pampasan kepada penduduk. Ahli-ahli MPPP juga telah dibawa ke Pasar Bayan Baru untuk menyelesaikan sebahagian masalah mereka. Saya berserta Ahli Parlimen turut bertemu pemandu-pemandu teksi meninjau masalah mereka dengan lebih dekat.

Sebahagian kilang di Bayan Lepas juga telah menerima kunjungan kerja dalam menjalinkan hubungan lebih erat antara penduduk Pantai Jerejak dan industri serta pelabur.

Ini semua hanyalah sebahagian kecil daripada usaha dan masalah yang telah berjaya diuruskan. Saya dan pasukan saya akan terus bekerja keras dan berkhidmat untuk anda.
