副首相那吉说，霹雳州变天不是国阵的错，议员跳槽是安华发起的。有的人甚至说安华根本不应该发动916变天，因果报应，国阵以彼之道还治其人之身，现在反而让霹雳跌入国阵手中。现在安华因该为这起事件负责任。这类论调似是而非，混绕视听，对事件没有深入探讨与分析，只能骗骗没有太多资讯的人民，但也让人民看到我们领袖思维逻辑简单。

如果大家还记得，916当天，安华开记者会亲自要求国会下议院议长召开国会特别会议，以让他提呈不信任动议。但是首相一口拒绝。然后，国会复会后，安华在提呈紧急动议，结果又被议长推翻。安华一次又一次的依照宪法程序促成变天，但是，国阵一次又一次的百般阻挠，导致变天被拖延了。民联的变天过程其实都沿用宪法斌与的条规，光明正大。

但是，反观国阵的变天手法，他们首先让议员失踪，再以百般理由如生病，背痛，向母亲拜年然后再派助理应付记者会等等不光明的手法逃避选民。波达区州议员更被骗上车去见那吉。接着，就传出五千万价码收买议员的新闻。这些都是不光明正大的手法。

国阵的正在的好戏就是践踏宪法程序。在霹雳州宪法第16条6，只有3种情况下，州务大臣会被革职。第一，州议会通过不信任动议。第二，大臣呈辞。第三，大臣宣布解散州议会。但是，在国阵的夺权过程中，这三种情况都没有出现。准的来说，这是一场政变。政变由副首相亲自部署，策划，执行。可怜的首相阿都拉好像局外人般，看这政变发生，丝毫不知所措。

那吉运用所有政府机关来对付民联州政府。他运用选举委员会拒绝承认3位州议员的辞职信。这是非常具争议性的。选举委员会的责任是根据议长的指示，不是法官鉴定辞职信是否有效。那吉接下来在苏丹没有委任新大臣前就指示州秘书变节，驱走尚在办公的行政议员，手法非常让人齿冷。

为什么那吉要犯众怒来进行这场惊天动地的政变？

那吉将会在短短的未来一个月成为第6任首相。自308后，国阵并没有改革的决心，一次又一次的失去民意的支持。从巴东埔到瓜丁补选，国阵原本占尽优势，但却一次又一次的输掉议席。最令他难堪的是他发觉他失去巫统的最大基层，马来票大量流失。与此同时，非马来人没有回流的迹象。

这对一个即将接任首相的那吉是非常大的打击。在首相阿都拉宣布退休后，那吉已经是国家幕后真正的领导人。他已经接任主导许多国家重大的决策，瓜丁补选其实是他全盘主动操盘。在他多番努力下，他还是无法扭转乾坤。这些连串打击对一个雄心勃勃的未来首相是严重的打击。

许多巫统的军阀对那吉领导的瓜丁败选彼有微言，他们更虎视眈眈的希望那吉犯错，以便进行逼宫，要重演那吉对付阿都拉的方式。那吉的未来第二号人物幕由丁，穆哈默等已经60岁了，他们没有耐心等候。所以处处想尽办法让那吉下台。在前有民联后有党内军阀下，那吉希望孤注一掷，把霹雳拿下，对党有个交代，顺便缓和党内的压力。

霹雳变天其实是那吉个人政治的豪赌，他不管巫统国阵，只为自己的政治前途博弈。

但那吉的致命伤是他走捷径，以不光明正大的发式夺权。他没有改革巫统的决心，还希望走回老路以高压的手段对付异议者。他继续运用政府机关为夺权工具，他甚至开始管制媒体，许多报馆主编已经开始接到通知，规范专栏作者。警方宣布取消所有政治讲座准证到局势平静为止。

2月4日笑嘻嘻的那吉万万没有想到人民的愤怒竟然是如此巨大。人算不如天算，竟然有一位国会议员病逝，补选即将在政治地震震央霹雳举行。临近的吉打州也有州议席补选。这可是那吉万万预料不到也万万不愿意的。

补选将会成为霹雳变天，那吉政治手段的公投。人民将会表态决定。

I chose to wear a Nehru-Sun Yat Sen (中山装) style costume on the first day of Chinese New Year marking a bullish year of reform. Nehru and Sun Yat Sen were all reformists of their respective country. I predict many changes will take place in this year. Whether the changes will be for the better or worse, one thing for sure: All Oxen will let loose!

As we can see on the eve of CNY, Datuk Nasaruddin Hashim crossed over to PKR. Also we are seeing tussle between Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional over the state of Perak now. No doubt, it is a tumulous time. The year of Ox will see more of these tussles, all of the political undercurrents will surface.

The main reason is because of the main political players in this country can no longer wait.

Najib Tun Razak is impatient to take over the top job to stablized his position. He wanted mandate and restore his legitimacy of his reign, especially he just failed badly over Permatang Pauh, KT and Bota. Therefore he needs to deliver Perak to legitimize his accedency. With the slow but sure demise of UMNO, time is not at his side. He needs a prime-priming plan for UMNO.

However, Pakatan Rakyat  would not sit still. Pakatan do not want to see this happen because of the huge liability Najib will bring to this country. Dato Seri Anwar can not sit still and wait for Najib to come after him. He has to play his cards well. Therefore, he is stepping up the pressure.

The tussle is expected to continue, this is just the begining of a bigger game plan. The stake is high. We, as the people would have to bear the uncertainty for a while. I know it is difficult especially when the country is going to face huge economic challenge in year 2009. This is the price to pay for the country to emerge from an authoritarian regime into a democratic country. The Taiwanese and Indonesian are still undergoing this process. It is not perfect, but it is a process we need to undergo.

In less than 48 hours, the permatang pauh by-election will be in full swing. They called it “mother of all by-elections”.
So you can guess the intensity of this election.
 
I know many of you are concerned about the future of our country. We all agree that it is heading to the wrong direction and something has to be done to save it. The key lies in the up-coming permatang pauh by-election. After March 8 election, we managed to send multiracial pakatan rakyat to govern a few states. Finally the two party system is dawning. However, UMNO has proven itself to continue to be arrogant, corrupt and divisive as before.
 
We have to shape the future of the country by participating in this critical democratic process. The coming by-election will be critical. It is a the survival of pakatan rakyat. If Anwar didn’t make it, we will fall back to the dark ages. UMNO-BN is very well aware of that. They will use their 3M strategy-Money, Media, Machinery. Therefore, they will pour tens of millions into the campaign. They will use whatever means to character assasinate Anwar.

Saya sekarang berada dalam Dewan Tun Syed Nasir menunggu Debat Perdana antara Datuk Seri Anwar dan Daro Ahmad Shabery Cheek.

Di Indonesia atau negara maju, debat merupakan perkara yang biasa, debat presiden Amerika menarik tontonan jutaan.

Tetapi, Malaysia begitu sensitif. Saya melalui 3 roadblocks baru sampai. 3 truck polis FRU menunggu di luar seakan-akan debat akan menyebabkan rusuhan.

Perjalanan Demokrasi masih jauh lagi.

Ayuh, VIP baru sampai. Jom sama-sama ikut debat kat TV9, Bernama TV dan laman kerajaan Selangor.

六月的马来西亚是个多事之秋。六月初，政府宣布有史以来最高的油价，让人们怨声哉道，民不聊生。接着，就是两名自民党的国会议员宣布将会对首相投不信任票，为政坛投下一枚炸弹，这是我国历史从来没有发生过的事，国阵政府立时摇摇欲坠。紧接下来就是著名部落客拉惹布特拉的宣誓书，投报我国副首相的夫人曾现身在阿丹图亚的案发现场。

就在国阵 政府内忧外患的背景下，另一枚炸弹突然爆发。这次的事发地点竟然在我的办公室，让我有点措手不及。

今年二月，安华正积极部署大选筹划，他为了突出竞选团队专业化及年轻化，委任了他的三个政治助理出征大选。我们三个都是年轻的专业人士。大选后，努鲁伊莎赢了班台谷国会议席，灄那兹米赢了雪州斯里色地亚州议席，而我也赢了班台惹雅州议席。就在我们筹备竞选及竞选期间，安华的工作就由一批年轻人帮忙处理，然而，我们并不知道，这就是最大的失误。

赛夫就是那些年轻人之一，他平时并不多话，为人礼貌，不容易让人起疑。大选过后，那些年轻人有些成为国会议员助理，有些加入雪州政府办事，赛夫则留下来义务帮忙，直到继续学业为止。赛夫表现并不出色，常不准时上班，而且不时缺席。由于是义务助手，安华并不太在意他的缺点，然而他却万万没料到一个23岁的年轻人竟然会有这样深的城府，被敌人安插在他的办公室，伺机结束他的政治生涯。
在整个事件里，敌对的一方算准了最好的时机发难。首先他们选择在他们内忧外患，民怨冲天的当儿，重重一击，顿时所有舆论都不再报道对他们不利的消息，人们暂时忘了高油价带来的痛苦，忘了国阵已摇摇欲坠，首相无力进行改革。第二，他们再次应用人格谋杀的计谋来对付安华。他们认为只要让安华名誉扫地，那民联将会群龙无首，从此瓦解，再也无法威胁国阵。他们再次运用卑鄙的鸡奸指控，企图用老剧本陷害安华两次。这将是这是一石多鸟之计。
然而，他们低估了人民的智慧。人民的眼睛是雪亮的。这些指控漏洞百出，事实证明赛夫与副首相那吉的政治助理及多位巫统部长有联系，他们的动机昭然诺揭。我们不应该再次掉入政治陷阱，现在最重要的是改善经济，对抗通膨，改革司法及警察部队，加强治安，让人民安居乐业。这是308 大选人民传达的讯息。

It all started in March, there were a few new younger staffers came into the office to volunteer.

All of his earlier staffs, Nik Nazmi, Nurul Izzah and me have been assigned to contest in the General Election, we all won. There was a vacumm and Shaiful came in. He was introduced by another junior staff who was assisting Nik Nazmi.
 
We believe he was planted because we received information about his cozziness with UMNO bigshots very early, Anwar decided to gave him chance and did not think a 23 year old would do any harm to him. 

DSAI seek refuge in several embassies due to security threat after the incidents. Police sources had informed us that they will arrest him that night. As an old man with a back injury, all of us advised him to seek refuge. He simply could not undergo the hell of 1998 again. Several embassies offered the refuge, he chose Turkey.
 
That was the basic story. It is important to note that the timing of this incident, because, BN is suffering attacks from all sides. Within BN there are serious internal squabbles. Outside BN there is a huge oil hike crisis out there and people are suffering. Then, there is Altantuya case haunting Najib’s and his wife. There are no significant reform done to judiciary, police and governance. So, as a result, they decided to divert the attention.
 
It is important for civil societies to focus on the reform agenda: Democracy, judicial reform, rule of law, police reform, freedom of media etc. Do not let the BN get away with these dirty tactics.
 
This is the critical time for the country to move forward or go back to dirty politics that is so “menjijikan”. Let us all try to push through the critical reform agendas. Do not lose focus. Write blogs, share ideas, send sms, organize forums to bring reform to the country. I think the March 8 General Election has sent BN a strong message.
