Mr. Huan Cheng Guan, someone I have not known personally hit back at me at a very personal way. That has lost my last little respect of him in political professionalism. Today NST quoted Huan: He (Sim) was still playing marbles when I joined politics.
http://www.nst.com.my/Current_News/NST/Tuesday/National/2589399/Article/index_html
Yes, Mr. Huan, your are right, I was playing marbles when you started your career. But, you lost to our generation of young leaders in GE12 because of your arrogance.
He is at this low point of his political career out of his own doing. Let me first recount his statements:
On May 29, he was quoted in NST as saying “I am 99 percent sure of leaving (Gerakan).”
On June 4th, The Star published “Gerakan Veep said to be planning to join PKR”.
On June 14th, NST “Huan Cheng Guan Remains in Gerakan”.
Today in MI, he said “I Still Love BN”
From the first few days of gung-ho to now fizzling out, from 99 percent sure to now still loves BN, we can see a growing trend among BN rejects who adopted an approach best described in Chinese: 一哭,二闹,三求饶. (First cry foul, Secondly Outburst, Finally Pleading.)
I must clarify that I have no problem with anyone joining PKR based on principle of justice, democracy and fighting for the poor. I am agreeable to Yusmadi and Datuk Zahrain’s argument on the principle of “Freedom of Association”. The sad thing is that, while we are standing firm on our core beliefs, our opponents are taking advantage of our stand.
We had these instances of Datuk Arif Shah and Chuah Soi Lek using the similar tactics of using PKR to bargain for better deals in their respective party. Now Huan Cheng Guan is again using this similar tactics. And what is Huan fighting for? Just a BN coordinator in Machang Bubok for his crony! That really infuriates me.
Of course, there are no shortage of good ex-BN men and women who joined PKR based on our fundamental beliefs of multracial politics, principles of justice and fight corruption. Datuk Zaid Ibrahim is a stelar example of these men and women, as well as Datuk Tan Yee Kiew and Dr. Tan Kee Kwong. I welcome them with open arms! We need more people like Dato Zaid and all. They bring in values, expertise, administrative experience and more importantly good principles to help the party grow.
We also need more young people with idealism to join the party to fight for better future for ourselves as well as our future generations. I am now planning on membership drives among the younger generation in this respect. We need young people who has the energy and passion to clean up dirty politics by BN.
The last thing the party need is taking in opportunist politician that will tarnish our image among the voters.

There are so many ex UMNO and ex BN politicians in PKR now.
What make you come into conclusion that Tan Yee Kiew and Tan Kee Kwong are not opportunists. Mind you, if these 2 would have won posts in their respective paties and be appointment government posts , i bet you they stick to their parties. So, you welcome their type of specimen?
What is your objective criteria and paramenters to measure that someone is truely fighting for democracy and justice as well as for the poor and not a mere opportunist?
You have to be objective about this.
anyhow, i would like to thank you for voicing your view to reject HCG.

YB Sim
Strangely, I may have been playing pool when he was launching his career but that doesn’t make him any greater pool player than I am. Hence, we hope no one will “huan” him within the ranks. He may have brought thousands into Gerakan but his don “huan” attitude, better we leave him to his own devices…literally

Dear Eric,
We can never tell who is committed who is not. In the end his/her deeds will tell over time.
But Huan is an obvious case that he is not interested in pkr’s party struggle.
Having said so, we had Ezam, we had Dato Nalla, they were once committed, but look at what happened to them?
So in the end, it is history and the voters that will judge a politician.

When CSL start this game I know for sure he is bargaining with his party, he have no intention whatsoever to leave. He cares for his own interest first.
I suggest Pakatan Rakyat come out with conditions, that whoever wants to leave bn and join PR must first resign from their party and remain partyless for at least 6 months, just like Zaid. When they join PR they must start from scratch as an ordinary member for at least two years before they can seek for elected position and they cannot be a candidate for the next coming GE.
Of course PR leaders must be able to access the quality and sincerity of those who wants to join and determine who has to observe these conditions and for Zaid I am sure these conditions need not be applied on him.

Korek Korek Korek - famous words of one lawyer. So simply this - you go ahead and play the marbles cos you have more dignity doing so. Huan was launching his career bluffing himself to death. Let him be. Glad that folks like Dato Lee Kah Choon is contributing. Huan can contribute - passing out air in the staircase for his ex gerakan folks to smell.

YB Sim,
I feel that no need to waste ur time to play with his kind of Frog la.. After all this frog can’t jump far. Say want to jump kenot jump, say want to stay also not sure want to stay. Kenot ’swim’ one. It is not a good frog! If PKR accept him also is a waste of space. Later on he will jump away again. Never accept a problem since u already know it is a problem. Let him be in under the tempurung and he will die very soon cos out of food.
Feel that penang politicians MUST focus on bring in more new job and opportunity into Penang. Not sure you realize that a lot of construction project (factory construction~ like Ibiden Project in fact is already on hold until further notice) in fact is being postponed/ on hold/ stopped. Contractors no work, labour no job, supplier no business.. This is the main problem we faced now. So please help.. rather than fighting with this kind of useless frog..

YB,
Good opinion about Huan who is playing around politic for his own benefit. Mr.Huan have to respect young generation & other politician view. PKR can’t receive any politician who like join the party if that politician have personal agenda. Yb Sim continue your statement and we support you.
